Artists in Education

CCS: Community Arts Partnership

As a program of the College for Creative Studies, Community Arts Partnership (CAP) collaborates with Detroit community organizations to provide art and design education, experiences, and resources for local youth and families. The instruction and programming is entirely led by local artists who share their craft and expertise with visual arts with elementary aged children through high school graduates, instilling a lifelong love and appreciation for creativity, artistry, and craft.

Pathways Foundation remains impressed and inspired by CAP’s continued commitment to its professional artists and its students. Through the pandemic, CAP invested heavily in its infrastructure, completing improvements for its artist teachers and the students engaged in the virtual programming. Post-pandemic, those improvements have strengthened the CAP program and its in-person teaching and learning is thriving once again. Pathways is proud to support this artistic community engagement throughout Detroit.
