We Shall Read

We Shall Read

We Shall Read believes deeply in two ultimate truths: that reading is a fundamental human right, and that it is not an optional skill.  It is also never too late for anyone to learn to read; using the right tools and strategies, We Shall Read is working towards its goal of having at least 95% of all school-aged children reading at or above grade level.

Using evidence-based strategies rooted in neurological research and development, We Shall Read is challenging the fatalistic impression that reading is out of reach for certain students, schools, and even communities. We Shall Read has an ambitious goal of tangible and historic change. Training and mentoring teachers, tutors, parents, and volunteers to utilize their programs and strategies, WSR has already proven its success throughout its pilot year of launching. Pathways is excited to see where this journey leads and believes that implementing these programs – imminently scalable and easily adaptable – might actually, finally, move the needle on universal literacy. We look forward to watching this organization catch fire, and change the literacy landscape for good.
